Keyed Alike Locks

Among the many advantages of using ABUS locks is the option to order locks keyed alike. This can be a great solution for people who use different ABUS locks for different bikes but want the convenience of a single key for all. They are also a great solution for households with multiple users/riders - having all the locks keyed alike means everybody can use their own key to open which ever lock is available or is not already in use.

We get lots of questions about this option in the office so we thought we would try to simplify it in a few words:

Locks that use the same cylinder can be special ordered keyed alike. This means you could order multiple Granit X-Plus 540 u-locks keyed alike OR you could order a 540 and a Bordo Granit X-Plus 6500. Essentially a Granit X-Plus lock can be keyed alike to another X-Plus lock. Similarly locks with the Plus cylinder can be keyed alike to other Plus cylinder locks.

Keyed alike locks must be special ordered through Germany. The cylinders have to be hand assembled so please allow 3-5 weeks for delivery when ordering keyed alike. Note that there is also a 10% upcharge for this service.

Please call your distributor for your keyed alike needs. They can place your order directly with Germany and facilitate delivery. For questions about which locks can be keyed alike feel free to call the office, we are always happy to help!
